Born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Susan Bisson attended Wake Forest University for her undergraduate studies. Graduating magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Wake Forest, Ms. Bisson enrolled in the University of Georgia School of Law. In 1976, she received her J.D., cum laude, from that institution.

Ms. Bisson is a member of the Conasauga Bar Association and the State Bar of Georgia. From 1996-1999, Ms. Bisson served as a member of the Investigative Panel of the Disciplinary Board of the State Bar.
Ms. Bisson lives in Dalton with her husband Jim. She has two daughters.
